United Kingdon Study Abroad Program June-August 2001

This program was an intensive analysis of landscape systems in the United States and England. The purpose was to compare and contrast the two cultures through their landscapes and gain a greater understanding of each. The analysis included an assessment of landscape systems (gardening, design, installation, and maintenance of ornamental plants and turf) in the United States through reading, discussions, visits, hands-on work and interviews. A parallel analysis, as well as some experiential learning of how some landscapes are developed, was done in England.
